An oil painting requested by a guy I work with. Sorry about the bad quality, I'm bad at photographig art and I've managed to loose all the pretty oil details. :(
Thinking about trying to borrow the original back and make prints.

please do not use without permission
Oil on 18x24 canvas

PS get tattooed at twilight tattoo in minneapolis! I work the front desk on weekends.

Edit: okay so this probably sounds cliche but: omg holy crap a DD thank youuuuu community!

Edit Edit: Finally uploaded a better picture, it's less blurry and more true to the colors. Thanks again everyone for the support. :)

Daily Deviation

Given 2010-05-12
Take a close look at General G-raffe by ~akki, the unlikely realism in this piece is truly amazing. ( Suggested by ~Avalik and Featured by ^Pixel-Spotlight )

wish she had a longer neck and by the way, I'd also wish to see a cap specially designed for her head :giggle:

In future, I'd rather you come directly to me with concerns like this, or follow the official guidelines (FAQ #873: What do I do when I disapprove of a Daily Deviation feature?), but I'm always happy to discuss why I featured a piece. :)

I just ask that you don't post it on the artwork itself; it's rude to the artist, who had absolutely no part and no choice in their piece being featured! It's also really discouraging to receive a comment like than on their work, as I'm sure you can imagine.

I encourage people to tell me what they think of the things I've featured, otherwise I have no idea if I'm doing a good job or not! :)

But if you post it on the artist's piece, I'm less likely to see it and it won't achieve anything other than offend the artist! ;P

There's a difference between enjoying a piece and thinking it deserves a DD. And agreed with Tanary, freedom of speech. Art school people (both teachers and fellow students) say much more brutal things to people's faces regarding their work, as do art critics. If people can't take "I dont think this deserves a DD" than they wouldn't make it very long in the art world. Art directors will tear you a new one if they want a better or different piece than the one you submit.
